Today, I thought I’d show you some of my favourite things that I can’t go a day without. We’ll start at the beginning of the day and work through it.
At the moment, I’m trying B. from Superdrug, it’s cruelty free and vegan. Not that I am vegan, but I thought I would try something natural on my skin and see how I get on with it.
To say I have dry skin would be an understatement. I have what’s called Psoriasis, and its a condition that causes red itchy patches that are covered in a scales (remember when I said I was a mermaid!). Unfortunately my patches are on my face, and I have to use a very intense moisturiser to ensure it doesn’t get too bad. Of course, during times of stress or changing of the seasons, or just because, it flares up now and again and I get really self conscious about it, but the moisturiser keeps it at bay.
I have quite fair eyelashes, so if I don’t put any on I look like I don’t have any at all. My eyelashes are long, but virtually invisible. At the moment I am using an Avon, but this isn’t my usual. This is just because I ran out of my favourite and had to use the nearest thing. I usually use the Collection Extreme Colour in black. I’m hoping to have a a sort out of my make up soon, and trying to make a conscious change to cruelty free options.
I get really dry and sore lips, so lip balm is definitely an essential for me. I don’t know if you’ve seen that meme about, with all the different places you keep lip balm, well it describes me to a T. I cannot cope if I can’t smother my lips in something like lip balm at all.
I have a coffee before I leave my house to go to work, and sometimes I will have another when I arrive at work, or if I’m walking past the cafe for something. But when I get to work, I drink tea. I don’t drink tea at home.
PCOS can cause deficiencies in the the natural vitamins your body absorbs, vitamins B and D are really important to hair, skin and nail health. The vitamins and supplements I take are Vitamin B3, Cod Liver Oil, for omega 3, and Inositol which can help regulate the insulin your body produces. (I’m not an expert, these are just things I’ve picked up from other blogs, but it can’t hurt can it.)
An Empowering Song
Nothing gets the blood pumping more than an empowering song in the morning. At the moment, I’m obsessed with the Hamilton Mixtape and Adele, and lets be fair, who isn’t? There are just so many power songs on there! I love it.
A notebook and a Pen
Now, I am not a fancy girl. I just have a standard black plastic biro for a pen, but I am fussy with my notebooks. They must be lined and they must have a piece of elastic to keep it closed. If they have a pocket at the back, thats great, if not that’s okay. But I like to have a notebook to jot down some notes or ideas about the blog. The only problem is trying to remember what my notes were about when I look at them afterwards!
My phone is not just my phone. It’s my life, if I can’t get my notebook out, I will make a note on my phone. It is also my diary, my to do list, my camera, and my bit of fun if I get a bit bored.
